3/5/16 Release Update

The brewery will be open 12-4pm on March 5, 2016 during Open Studios.  Come on down taste local handcrafted beer, chat with the brewers and visit with our neighbors.  Great things going on here at Western Ave Studios. 

Growler fills/tastings:  Citra dry hopped Pale Ale, IPA brewed w/ local malts, and Coffee Porter brewed with Lowell's Brew'd Awakening Coffeehaus "Art of Coffee" Poet roasts.

3/3/16 Release update

Join us Thursday Mar. 3rd 4-9pm for the release of Navigator, an all Nelson Sauvin hopped American Pale Ale.  

22oz bottles:

Navigator, 6.4% ABV, 39 IBU’s, an all Nelson Sauvin hopped American Pale Ale.

Springline, 5.9% ABV, 42 IBU’s, an easy drinking spring seasonal Golden ale with light floral hops.

Coffee Porter, 6.5% ABV, 38 IBU’s, brewed with Brew’d Awakening’s “Art of Coffee” Poet roasts.

Growler fills:

Pale Ale, 6% ABV 37 IBU’s, a straight forward American Pale Ale loaded with Citra hops. It’s clean, crisp, hoppy and crushable.

Coffee Porter, 6.5% ABV 38 IBU’s, brewed with Brew’d Awakening’s “Art of Coffee” Poet roasts.

IPA, 6% ABV 50 IBU’s, our flagship IPA is based on the American version of this classic style. Hoppy, crisp, yet well balanced.

2/25/16 Release update

Join us on Thursday Feb. 25th 4-9PM for the release of a few new handcrafted ales and the return of others.

22oz bottles:

Coffee Porter 6.5% ABV 38 IBU’s, brewed with Brew’d Awakening’s “Art of Coffee” Poet roasts.

Springline, 5.9% ABV 42 IBU’s, a spring seasonal Golden ale.  It’s not spring yet but thought it be a great idea to release the pilot batch as a teaser of what’s to come.

Porter w/Brett, 6.7%ABV 55 IBU’s, a classic American porter fermented on brettanomyces yeast.  Smooth, complex, velvety and sure to please your palate.

Lowell Common, 5.7% ABV 21 IBU’s, our interpretation of the once popular pre-prohibition style Kentucky Common.

*Porter w/Brett is limited to one per customer, no holds.

2/18/16 Release Update

We'll be releasing 2 new ales and welcoming the return of another on Thursday 2/18/16. The first, Lowell Common, our rendition of the style Kentucky Common,a once-popular style of ale from the 1850s until Prohibition.   The second, Porter w/Brett, a smooth and complex ale fermented with brettanomyces yeast.  The third, Coffee Porter brewed with Lowell's very own Brew'd Awakening Coffeehaus "Art of Coffee" Poet roasts. 

Bottles:  Brettanomyce Porter (Limit 2 bottles per) and Lowell Common.

Growler fills: Pale Ale, Coffee Porter and IPA.

Brewery is open on Thursday 4-9PM. 

Feb. 6th Release update

We'll be releasing 2 new ales on Saturday Feb. 6th,  Noon-4PM.

Navigation Brewing Co. Gratzer: Here is a short & sweet description for this revived style: Gratzer (pronounced Grate-sir) is a Smoked Wheat Ale. The style dates back to the 15th century.  Brewed for you smoke heads.

Navigation Brewing Co. Raspberry Tart: A not so sour, Sour Ale with an in your face raspberry aroma, tart mouthful and slightly dry finish. An easy all day drinking not so sour, Sour Ale.

Bottles: Double IPA, Raspberry Tart, and Gratzer.

On Tap: Pale Ale (Citra Dry Hopped).

Doors are open noon-4pm.  Overflow parking is located of the corner of School & Broadway Streets.  A shuttle will haul you to and from the studios.

Beer Release for Jan. 28th 2016

On Thursday January 28th we’ll be releasing 22oz bottles of our Double IPA for you hopheads and for those not into hops a Gruit Ale

Handcrafted for the well-traveled craft beer enthusiast our flagship Double IPA was created holding to the standards of the style.  The hop bill consists of a Magnum, Cascade, and a massive amount of Summit added to the boil as well as dry hopping. 9% ABV, 75 IBU’s

Gruit Ale (alternately grut or gruyt) is an old-fashioned herb mixture used for bittering and flavoring beer, popular before the extensive use of hops.  A hint of Cherrywood smoked pale malt provides our Gruit with a nice smoke aroma as well as palatableness.  Additions of bog myrtle, caraway, rosemary, cardamom, ground cloves, and bay leaves add to this ales unique character. 4.5% ABV, 12 IBU’s. BTW- Feb. 1st is International Gruit Day.
